Common questions
Who can see my posts?
Whoever you chose when you posted: everyone, friends, or only you. You can change it later from the post's ⋯ menu → Edit. Your page can be switched off entirely in Settings → Your page.
How do friends and following differ?
Following shows you someone's public posts; anyone can follow a public page. Friends are mutual — both of you agree — and see each other's friends-only posts too. Family is friends you mark as family yourself (only you see who); a post can be for them alone.
Something in my feed shouldn't be there.
Every post has ⋯ → Report, and every person ⋯ → Block. Blocking hides you from each other completely. Reports are read by a person and acted on under the terms. Something illegal? Report it here — no account needed. How decisions and appeals work: Legal & safety.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account. It's immediate and complete: trips, posts, lists, stories, photos, comments and likes go with it. There is no grace period and nothing is kept.
Where does my location go?
Nowhere unless you tap "Use my location" in the post form, and then only to suggest places near you. The only location saved is the place you pick. Photos have their location data removed on upload. More in Privacy.
Is it really free?
Yes. And whatever pays for it later, your data is never sold — it's yours: you can download all of it, or delete all of it, at any time. If ads ever appear, they'll be chosen by the page they're on, never by who you are.
